Fruity Whisky Sour

A glass of Fruit Whisky Sour

The Whisky Sour is undoubtedly one of the most iconic drinks throughout the history of mixology, with the simple addition of sweet syrup, balancing perfectly with the richness of the whisky, bitters and fresh zesty/sour lemon juice. The well matured sherry cask notes found in Yamazaki 18yo and the intense fruitiness of the marmalade lend themselves brilliantly for a different yet equally refreshing take on this all time classic.

List of Ingredients
  • 50ml Yamazaki 18yo
  • 25ml measure freshly squeezed lemon Juice
  • 15ml measure of dark orange marmalade syrup (home made)
  • 15ml fresh egg white
  • 3 dashes of Whisky Barrel-Aged aromatic Bitters
  • A twist of flamed orange zest and a maraschino cherry (Garnish)
Method
  1. Dry shake the egg white first to obtain a frothy consistency.
  2. Then add the other ingredients (except the bitters) to the shaker with fresh ice and shake vigorously.
  3. Strain into a chilled Old-Fashioned glass.
  4. Carefully drizzle a few drops of the bitters onto the drink's frothy topping and garnish with a twist of flamed orange zest and a maraschino cherry.
